    I know that I’ve mentioned in the past that I’m pretty prejudiced when it comes to Regency romance novels. In brief, I rarely stray from romances published by Avon. However, I found a few books published by Forever that sounded good, so I figured I’d give them a try. To be honest, I still prefer Avon Books. I can’t really specify a reason, except I’ve always found Avon Books a touch more tasteful (yes, I realize I’m talking about romance novels) than other publishers. That said, Barely a Lady wasn’t really all that overly crass like some of the genre romances I’ve read in the past.

I read six Avon Romance titles in probably about a week, and I thought I’d give a quick review and summary of each rather than letting each have their own book review.     I have a confession to make. I have only ever read one Jane Austen novel, and it’s not the one you’d expect. (To clarify, I have read Northanger Abbey, not Pride & Prejudice.)

    I love the idea of Austen’s world, the idea of the Regency romance novel. It’s kind of the same way I feel about superheroes. I’m not a fan of reading comic books, but I love the idea of superheroes and superhero worlds. But this post isn’t about comic book superheroes; it’s about Regency romance.
